Relaxing Weekend

I ended up not having my daughter this weekend. It was summer fest where she lives, and her mother wanted to take her to the carnival, and she was excited for fire works. While I would have loved to have her this weekend, I did not want to stop her from having fun. So I am going to have her next weekend.

I spent a fantastic weekend in Tooele Utah with some great company. We enjoyed a kid free weekend with lots of shaved ice and adventure. I even got to go magnet fishing for the first time! I caught a lid to some fishing bate. It has been incredibly hot, so some time in the A.C. with some Supernatural on the TV was definitely enjoyed as well.

Jeff is coming over Friday night for some guy time. We are also making plans to work on The Neoteric Man and getting it back up and going. We have both been missing having a pet project. I look forward to what our brainstorming session might bring.

I did an oil change on my VW this weekend. I made a hell of a mess and the drain pan plug was well stuck. But got it done, and it is ready to go again for a while. It is getting closer to time for a timing belt, but it's still over 20k away. Since my commute is so short and fuel prices are at an all-time high, I imagine I can get away with not needing it for another year or two. I am glad I held onto it. I could not afford to replace it with the cost of vehicles these days. Being a diesel, it should have many mile and years left in it.
