Friday night through Sunday afternoon was dedicated dad time. We went to two different comic shops to enjoy free comic book day. The tiny human scored 10 comics. These are in fact her very first comic books. We read the Spider-Man one today before she had to go back to mom. It was a good weekend with quality time, fun time and even some chores thrown in for good measure. I love my tiny human, and she never ceases to amaze me.
What does this mean for my workouts? Well, Friday night through Sunday afternoon, I did not end up working out. Could I have fit one in? I guarantee you I could have, but I was enjoying dad time and I picked that.

However, on Thursday, I kicked my own ass and hit a new record. I went for a walk thinking two miles seemed like a stretch, but it was my goal. Hit two miles and realized I haven't pushed myself for a while to hit a new goal. Mission accomplished! I am proud of the progress I am making. If you had asked me three months ago to go on a 3-mile walk, I really would have bitched, moaned and proclaimed it impossible. Tonight I did not want to go outside in the cold, and it was getting late. So I decided to break out the step-up box and kettle bell. In under 7 minutes, I had raised my heart rate and broke a sweat. Step-ups, sit-ups and push-ups. I thought about calling that good, but I was unimpressed with my efforts.
Now that I was good and warm, I laced up and pushed through the wind and rain to bust out a mile. I harnessed my frustrations and managed to once again surprise myself. Not all that long ago, I was ecstatic about a 20-minute mile. Well, tonight I did an 18 minute and fifty-six second mile. As of this morning, the scale clocked me at 338lbs, down from 352.6.
Progress is being made, and I am pushing myself like never before. My motivation and mind are in the right place this time. I truly believe that this will be the time I slay my goals and put down the cheeseburger for a healthy lifestyle. It is not easy, but I am worth it and I deserve these life changes I am fighting for. My spirits are up, and my determination is strong. Thanks for checking in, and I am proud to say I hit my goal and my post is up on Sunday! Have a great night, everyone.
